I'm also puzzled as to why 'Susan' sent the bird book to Whistler. I hope that he doesn't have any ties to the company and rather what Susan was trying to get across was something along the lines of, "if you don't break out, your girlfriend is next".
I'm still tinkering away with 'Stampede' whenever I get a chance. What I'm want to see next is if any of the dates written in the pages of the book have any significance to what has happened so far; I believe the dates included one day in April and two in September if I remember correctly.
I'd like Whistler to be a good guy too...but I'm dubious they'd send the book to him if he was. The Company would have known that the bird book was locked up in a safe deposit box--which means it must be of value. And unless they'd unlocked all of its secrets (unlikely--since doing so would probably alleviate the need to break Whistler out of Sona) then I can't imagine why they'd send it to him.
The only bird book dates I was able to make out during a couple of 1/8th-speed playback passes are:
· 4/09 · 2/22 · 4/23
The next shot is of the "STAMPEDE" page--which, interestingly, the camera lingers on longer than any of the date pages. It's a very clear, unambiguous view of both "STAMPEDE" and of "614291925" in the right margin.
This is a general comment about your "poll" questioning your visitors to vote about whether they will continue to watch the show now that Sara is gone.
Here's the thing - are we really sure that it was her head in the box, or was Linc made to believe it as so?
When Sara's actress Sarah Wayne Callies became pregnant, they used stand-ins for the role. After the pregnancy finished in July 2007, Callies and the show producers could not agree on a new contract, and the "Sara" character was supposedly killed off.

I'd love to know what it means...

But who knows, she might return ...
